Autism Behavioral Services’ Girls Group members experience a premiere social program designed to meet the unique needs of girls with autism. Our Girl’s Group highlights independence and self-esteem building through role play, social exercises, and other activities generating a positive sense of self.
ABS’ Girls Group is designed for preteen girls to help them prepare for middle/high school and the difficulties girls experience such as bullying, body shaming, cliques, puberty, and friendships.
Our focus is on empowerment of yourself and others, focusing on uniqueness as a gift and applauding each other’s strengths rather than shaming challenges.
Skills such as pincer grasp and turn taking are hidden within preferred tasks such as painting nails and jewelry making. Our Girl’s Group participants love attending our program and have made lifelong friends along the way!
